Here at The Lock Guy we take our recycling very seriously. Our office is based in the leafy suburb of Eltham / Research which makes us highly sensitive towards the carbon footprint we leave in our industry.
We now recycle 95% of our waste, here's how we do it:
Paper and cardboard
Where possible we attempt to email all invoices, quotes and correspondence cutting out the need for endless reams of paper. Incoming mail is 100% recycled whether it be used as notepaper or shredded and put out for recycling. Also our suppliers have now changed their boxes to a more generic branded one allowing us to reuse them for our own customers.
Metals and scrap
Where possible The Lock Guy will attempt to repair or replace parts in a lock before totally removing and replacing. We will certainly not change a lock simply for the sake of it or to make money. Any metals we can't use and the swarf from our key cutting machines are all sent to the metal yard for melting down and recycling.
Unfortunately a lot of our locks come packaged in plastic, where possible we will always reuse the packaging materials and /or recycle the plastics as much as we can.
